Mikel Obi responds to Super Eagles boycott rumour

After the Nigerian press released reports rumours of the Nigerian football star wanting to boycott playing in future matches for the Super Eagles. Mikel Obi has released this statement in response to the allegations:

“That is far from the truth. How can I or any other sane player harbour such a bad feeling when what we are all fighting for is the common good. Tell me, what would I gain if I say I am going to stop playing for Nigeria or boycott the game against Tunisia? Nothing! I want to play at the world cup and I can only do that by giving my all to Nigeria,’’
