Nigerian drug enforcement agency arrest 50 year old woman with 585g of cocaine

As 50 year old Akormadu Florence was about to board a KLM flight at the Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport in Nigeria, she was arrested by operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement agency on suspicion she might have drugs on her. They were right, as she was kept under observation by the operatives, she excreted 42 wraps of cocaine, weighing 585 grammes.

Mr. Sumaila Ethan who is the area commander of the special unit of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) disclosed that drug traffickers have come up with new tricks to out maneuver NDLEA agents by abandoning their luggage as unclaimed at the airport, then storming the airline office to claim the same consignment at a later date.

Ethan added "The drugs were packed in a bag and left unclaimed among others, and no sooner the bags were about to be taken to the Egypt Air office than NDLEA operatives insisted in searching them, during which a bag, which tag was believed to have been removed to conceal the identity of the trafficker was searched and the drugs was discovered."

Ethan also made this  statement to deter future drug traffickers  "Let me warn that Kano Airport is a no-go area. My officers have been placed on alert to foil any move drug barons may make to ferry their drugs through the airport, as all loop holes have been blocked."
